DON’T FALL IN LOVE WITH A POET 1
Do you want to love?
Oh no, don’t fall in love with a poet.
He’s a man with no heart
For like carrot he diced it
In a kitchen of books
As he turn it into words
Calling it art.
A man with thousand words of love
But like a sling shot against bird
A word of his can ruin castles
Making it desolate
How much more your fragile heart?
In shambles he will drench it.
Don’t fall in love with a poet
For the truth he will say
Even if it hurts
He cares not
What a cruel being!
Don’t fall in love with a poet
For their soul is more gloomy than darkness
Plant the sun in them
And a gleam of light you will see not
The heat will go cold
For their heart is not enthused to love.
Consent not to their handsome face,
Mind not their pretty lips,
Hidden beneath that is an ugly smile,
A cackle of devil.
If your heart worth’s more than gold,
Give it not to a poet.
For like the ink in his pen,
He will rid it of blood,
Until you go pale –
Whitish as snow.
Now and again,
Don’t fall in love with a poet!
